about me…

hi! i’m megs - the heart and hands behind rooted + ready.

this bakery started in the same place my sobriety did - at home, in my kitchen, one day at a time. as i worked on rebuilding myself, i found comfort in nurturing a bubbly little jar of flour and water i named whitney houston (because she is the real diva around here). tending to her gave me purpose, and baking with her gave me joy.

what began as simple loaves and treats for my family quickly turned into something bigger. friends asking for “just one more batch,” my kids wanting a taste, and me realizing that this wasn’t just baking. it was healing.

rooted + ready grew from that love. it started with late-night cookie experiments, bagels shaped with shaky but hopeful hands, sourdough loaves that reminded me that patience creates something beautiful. now, it’s my way of sharing the magic that helped me find myself again: small-batch breads, bagels, and sweets, all crafted with care and a whole lot of heart.

this isn’t just flour and water. it’s proof (literally) that growth is possible, that love rises, and that sometimes, the best things come from starting over.
